We are a consultancy headed by Professor Richard Carter. With over 40 years experience in rural development in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, Richard Carter started the company in 2006 to provide consultancy services and work in partnership with governments, NGOs, international agencies and faith-based organisations.

In 2016 Cranfield University was awarded a Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education.  This related to the MSc course in Community Water and Sanitation which Richard Carter and colleagues started in 1989, and the associated research, training and consultancy activities.  Numerous academic, technical and administrative staff of the university contributed to this work, and Richard was directly involved in a number of leadership and support capacities between 1989 and 2015.

In September 2016 Richard Carter was given the Applied Hydrogeology Award of the International Association of Hydrogeologists.  This is presented annually to a groundwater professional who has made outstanding contributions to the application of hydrogeology, preferentially in developing countries or in support of international development efforts.  The award was made at the 43rd Annual Congress of IAH in Montpellier, on the occasion of the 60th year celebrations of the Association.
